What is a kimkim Gem trip?
Kimkim Gem trips are fixed, pre-designed itineraries that include accommodations, transportation, and activities—curated by local specialists for a seamless travel experience. Unlike custom trips, Gem trips cannot be modified, but you can choose your own travel dates.
Can I customize the itinerary?
No. Gem trips are not customizable. Hotels, activities, and transportation are all pre-arranged to ensure a smooth, high-quality experience. If you'd like to plan additional travel before or after your Gem trip, we’re happy to connect you with a specialist—but the Gem itinerary itself must remain as is.
Can I choose my own travel dates?
Yes. While the itinerary is fixed, you're free to select your preferred travel dates within the available booking window as specified on each itinerary’s page. After you purchase your trip, we’ll confirm your bookings and reach out if your chosen dates fall outside the available window.
Which hotels will I be staying at?
We hand-pick boutique hotels that reflect the character of the destination. Because availability can shift—especially with smaller properties—we don’t list exact hotels in advance. This helps keep the booking process flexible and ensures quality across the board. You’ll receive your confirmed hotel list after booking, and every option meets our standards for comfort, style, and location.
Why are Gem trips only available for certain dates?
Each trip is scheduled to align with the best seasonal conditions, local culture, and experiences in the region. Limiting trips to specific travel windows helps ensure consistency, smoother logistics, and a higher-quality experience. It also allows us to focus on a small number of trips at a time and maintain high standards.
What happens after I purchase a trip?
Once you book, our team will confirm your reservations and share a detailed day-by-day itinerary. You’ll receive all necessary booking confirmations for accommodations, activities, and transportation to ensure a smooth trip.
Are flights included?
International flights are not included. Any domestic transportation listed in the itinerary is covered. Please plan to arrive on the first day of the itinerary.
Are meals included?
Most meals are not included unless specified as part of a booked activity. We’ll provide dining recommendations and, in some cases, can assist with reservations. Otherwise, meals are at your own expense.
What if my preferred travel dates aren’t available?
If your chosen dates are unavailable, we’ll suggest the closest alternatives. If no suitable option works for you, you’ll receive a full refund.
Will I have support during my trip?
Yes. You’ll have access to our support team throughout your trip to ensure everything goes smoothly.
Is the trip refundable if my plans change?
Gem trips are non-refundable once booked. If you need to change your travel dates, we’ll do our best to help, but changes depend on availability and cannot be guaranteed.
Do you offer trip insurance or cancellation protection?
We don’t offer insurance directly, but we strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance independently. Trips canceled after booking are non-refundable. We’ve partnered with Faye—a travel insurance provider you can use if you’d like coverage for things like delays, cancellations, or medical needs. Can I book this trip as a solo traveler or for a group larger than four?
Currently, Gem trips are designed for 2 to 4 travelers. We do not support solo travelers or groups larger than four at this time.
Are more Gem trips coming soon?
Yes. We’re expanding the collection with new destinations and experiences. Stay tuned for future additions.
